Struggling:Part 3

About six sux months passed.

During those months, I got many experiences: nice (?), funny, even embarrassing.

Nice(?) experience: I did the test well: psychotest, interview. I was able to answer their – HRD and User – questions well enough (of course in my own opinion ).

Funny experience: I wore my shoes just a minute before I enter the test place/room. In the middle of my struggle, I have ever done something foolishly. One of these was, on the way to test place, at Blok M bus station (Jakarta), there was an traffic officer who warned me not to cross the bus area, even he did it loudly and more than once. What was my response ? I gave little care about his warning, and just half running-half walking as if I didn’t hear his warning. Oh no, there were two polices in front of me, and they forced me to walk through underground channel, which indeed is provided for the passengers. And I met with that traffic officer above - who warned me before. What a shame ….. moreover, he said something again to me. ( Luckily, he was a Traffic (DLLAJR) Officer, not “Satpol PP” officer… :) ).

What about that embarassing experience ? sadsuckshit ?

By the way, I usually use mass transportation means to reach the test places, such as bus, city van, and -the most crowded- electric-powered train.
Someday, I left early in the morning to take an interview at the company. I used railway/electric-powered train to reach first transit. There was a rain cats and dogs along that day, and it forced me to stay at railway station and wait until the rain is abated and over. I went to the second transit. Lack of asking about how to reach my destination to someone else, made me feel so lost at that area. In the beginning, I decided to cancel this plan and let this job opportunity pass. But, there was an unpredicted event occurred. I tried again to be able to take that interview test. I took some city van to reach the destination, and finally I could find that company’s office and join that interview test. This experiences gave me a valuable lesson, namely “don’t you ever give up”, “never surrender”, “ensure that you take the right way/bus”.

OK, I have to continue my struggle again ……

Struggling:Part 2

Until I write this, I am still a jobseeker. There is a little information I want to share, it’s about applying for the existing job vacancies.
First, let’s identify the information sources about job vacancies. They could come from vacancy advertisement at these places:

A. Mass Media
1. Internet
Today, Internet has critical role for spreading information about job. From the employer view: employer can put their job vacancy information at their own official website or advertise it at the job portal website. Employer can also spread it through email to the groups or send it to their relations/friends individually. From the jobseeker view: They could browse that job portal website along the day, refresh/update it every time they want :) , or join any groups concern about job vacancies. Even, that vacancy information often comes from the groups which have different main purpose, such as classmates group, community groups, and so on. They also get the information which enter into his email inbox, individually from someone or institution.
2. Newspaper/magazine
3. Consultants/Recruitment Institutions

B. Recommendations/Relations/Connections

(I’m sorry, there is no enough explanation for each point above :) )

And below are some ways we can take/get to apply for job vacancies(still based on my poor experience):

A. Mail
In my opinion, this is an old way, but it’s still OK
B. Internet/email
The rapid technology advances make communication actvity can be done easier and faster. Applying through internet/email is an efficient way, moreover, many industries/companies utilize internet/email for their recruitment activities. Formerly, I send applications using email and mail. But, recently I send them -most of all- by email.
C. Recommendations/Relations/Connections
Cool link :) , have you ever got ?

Submitting Undergraduate Final Assignment Books

Alhamdulillah, finally I could finish my final assignment ("skripsi&quot ;) project+its softcover books. I needed about a month to collect data and write project's raw report/book. Having written raw report/book, I had to submit it to my advisor lecturer. This stage was taking so much time caused by many factors: difficulties to meet my advisor lecturer(maybe she was busy enough), mistakes on my writing, revisions, etc.

Tuesday night, a night before the deadline day for submitting final assignment books(deadline=June 14,2006), I was so busy enough because I had to edit the book, print the books, and make presentation slides' of my project. Those were "almost must" combined with watching the World Cup 2006 matchs …… :)

Wednesday, June 14, I went to the photocopy center and make the report into softcover books, then I asked for approval sign of my advisor lecturer. And……I submitted my final assignment books, in softcover form, to Electrical Engineering Department UI. Alhamdulillah. Now I have to prepare myself for the test of my final assignment ("sidang skripsi"). May Alloh Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala give me success in that test. Amin ya robbal 'alamin.

midnight:inspiration

Several days ago, I heard my friend -EEUI2000 student- said that inspiration about  "final task"/(skripsi,thesis) occasionally appears in the middle of the night. He shared his experience, where at that time permission to stay over the night in the laboratories was still easy to get.Yeah, I stay at campus again tonight, but not in the laboratory (where?). Chatting with some my friends for a while, continued with troubleshoot the computer and small network testbed. I test its connectivity, ….. ping, ping6….. Alhamdulillah it works. Ouw, I have to execute another testing, again. So, I download an Apache HTTP Server release, and then install it.

Enter the midnight : after several times working on trial and error steps, I got a simple example how to execute the test. I tried it again, and,….. ugh, Alhamdulillah, it works.

So, what's next guys ? ……there are still many things ! one of them: UEFA Champions League ……. :P [switch to TV]
